HIDEKI NODA
A playwright, director, and actor, was born in Nagasaki in 1955. He is also the artistic director of Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre as well as a professor at Tama Art University. In 1992, Noda went to study in London. Upon his return in 1993, Noda founded a new theater production company, NODA MAP.He was made an Honorary Officer of the British Empire (OBE) in 2009 and was also awarded the Asahi Prize in the same year. In June of 2011, he was awarded the Medal with Purple Ribbon.
